Garth Laidlaw is a practicing animator, illustrator and international tutor for students hoping to study animation professionally.  Since animation is entirely a digital medium today, Garth enjoys cultivating the analog side of his art practice at his downtown studio in Annapolis Royal at H'Arts on Church Street.  

So far, he has primarily focused on landscapes but he is looking forward to branching out to more narrative-driven artworks in the future.  Garth is primarily inspired by the impressionists and post-impressionists but he also tries to merge this aesthetic with his contemporary eye for film and storytelling into every painting.

David Laidlaw was a visual art teacher in Ontario for 27 years before retiring, and becoming a visual artist. He moved to Nova Scotia two years ago and has been inspired by the beautiful scenery of Nova Scotia. He works mostly in oils, although he has also worked in chalk pastels.

Art @ EXIT is a rotating art program hosted at the EXIT Realty Town & Country office in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, designed to celebrate and support local artists while creating a welcoming, inspiring space for the community.

Each month, we feature a local artist and transform our Annapolis Royal office into a curated gallery showcasing their work. From paintings and photography to mixed media and emerging styles, this program brings together art, community, and conversation in the heart of historic Annapolis Royal.
